Configuring Mac OS X 10.3 Apple Mail

This guideline is applicable for the first time user to configure mail account under Mac OS X 10.3 ("Panther") version Apple Mail.



1. Go to "Mail" menu and select "Preferences"


2. It will now prompt an account configuration setting page. Please complete require column as stated under "Account Information" tab.



Description : Self reference account description

Email Address : Your email address (eg : user@domain.name)

Full Name : name of sender to be appear on recipient ends

Incoming Mail Server : (eg : mail.domain.name)

Username : Your email address (eg : user@domain.name)

Password : Your email login password


Please proceed to click on dropdown bar under "Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)" session and select "Edit SMTP Server List"


 

3.  Now it will prompt another windows, user are require to select the email account that been created and insert information as stated.

Under "Account Information" tab.

Description : Self reference account description
Server Name : (eg : mail.domain.name)



Complete the column and switch to "Advanced" tab.

Select using "Use custom port" with value "587", and uncheck the "Use Secure Sockets Layer SSL" checkbox. The rest of the column may refer to below.

Authentication : "Password"
Username : Your email address (eg : user@domain.name)
Password : Your email login password

 

4. Click "OK" to complete the configuration
