Announcement: SSL Certificate Validity Periods Reduced to 1 Year

Dear Valued Clients, 


Apple announced that as of September 1, 2020, its Safari browser will no longer trust newly registered SSL certificates with validity periods of two years. 


Two-year certificates registered up until August 31, 2020, will  be trusted, but those registered on or after September 1, 2020, will not.


Why the validity periods being reduced?

Longer validity periods take longer to roll out updates or changes generally.


It improve security by reducing the window of exposure if a certificate is compromised, and ensuring certificate holders are regularly updating their information.


Beside that, when a key is renewed more often there are less chances of it being broken by third party.


What will happen for our clients that purchased SSL with us?


A) Client with SSL 2 years or more:

It will be valid until its expiration date but only available 1 year renewal when expiry.


B) Client that wish to purchase NEW SSL:

You will have the option of buying it with 1 year validity period only.
