Announcement - New MCMC policy for Bulk SMS Marketing Solution

Announcement detail

According to a notice by Malaysia Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) , they will begin blocking all URLs effective 1 June 2024, with full enforcement starting on 1 September 2024. 

Contents that under the blocklist:

• URL link and any clickable link e.g. shorten URL;
• Request for user’s personal information e.g name, IC number, account number and 
• Mobile and fixed line number

Announcement Impact:

Start from 1 June 2024. please remove URLs and phone numbers from their SMS messages to avoid any disruption on your SMS to clients.

Suggestion by vendor:

You may modify the content to something like the example below:"RM0 xxxx: Thanks for contacting us. Please visit our website > Menu > Page for details."
