What Happens After Cancelling a Microsoft Direct Subscription
✅ If You Click “Turn Off Recurring Billing”
The subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period. Microsoft will not charge for the next renewal cycle.
Users can continue using the services until the expiration date. You can turn recurring billing back on anytime before the subscription expires.
✅ If You Click “Cancel Subscription” Microsoft may offer options: Immediate cancellation (with or without refund, depending on terms). Scheduled cancellation at the end of the billing term. Once cancelled: The subscription enters a grace period (usually 30 days). During this time, users may still access services, but admins should act quickly to avoid service disruption.

⚠ Important Notes:
Data Retention: After the grace period, Microsoft may delete tenant data unless another subscription is active.
License Removal: Once the subscription ends, licenses are automatically removed from users.
Service Impact: Users will lose access to services like Outlook, OneDrive, Teams, etc., unless new licenses are assigned (e.g., via Crayon CSP).
