How to create FTP Account in cPanel

1. Access cPanel by logging in at (http://www.YourDomain.com/cpanel)

2. Navigate to the Files menu

3. Select FTP Account.

4. You will see the option for Add FTP Account.

a) The Login is the unique username you desire for this account.

b) Choose your primary domain under Domain.

c) Input a Password.

d) The Directory refers to your subdomain directory (e.g., /home/abc/public_html/support/).

5. Click on Create FTP Account.

NOTE:

Entering a single / in the directory box will grant the new FTP user access to the entire public_html directory and all subdirectories therein.

If you wish for the new user to only access a specific subdomain, set the directory box to match the root name of that subdomain, as indicated in parentheses in the subdomain section of this control panel.

Please note that the new user will have read/write capabilities for the chosen directory and all directories beneath it.

For instance, if you create a user named john and grant access to /home/abc/public_html/john, that user will be able to ADD, EDIT, RENAME, and REMOVE any files or directories within /home/abc/public_html/john.
