Access a server remotely using a Windows Computer
1. Click the Start button.
2. Select Run.
3. Enter “mstsc” and hit the Enter key.
4. In the Computer field, input the IP address of your server.
5. Click Connect to see the Windows login prompt.
Access a server remotely using Mac OS X
1. Download the Microsoft Remote Desktop client from the Mac App Store.
2. Add a Remote Desktop connection or a remote resource. A connection is used to connect directly to a Windows PC, while a remote resource is utilized to access a RemoteApp program, session-based desktop, or a virtual desktop published on-premises through RemoteApp and Desktop Connections.
3. Complete the fields on the connection page to create a server connection profile.
- PC name: input the IP (including port number) like 192.168.0.10:3389.
- Friendly name: a label for this connection profile.
4. Double-click the server profile to connect to the server.
