The email client supports two different mail protocols: POP3 and IMAP.
When setting up an account, users must select between these two options.
The distinctions between these two protocols are as follows:-
IMAP: Emails are stored on the server. Any changes made in the email client application
will also be reflected on the server, and likewise, any modifications made on
the server will be synchronized with the email client application.
POP3: New emails are stored on the server, which are then downloaded by the
email client application to be saved on the user's computer. Once the download is complete,
the server copy will be deleted.
Choosing which protocol to use depends on the user's intended usage.
Will the account be accessed on multiple devices?
Choose IMAP.
Do you have limited mailbox storage?
Most email providers offer sufficient storage for users to keep all their emails on the server.
However, if the user plans to store over 15 GB, they should opt for POP3.
